The project SEVIA, a partnership of Wageningen University & Research, East West Seed and Rijk Zwaan, was initiated in 2014. Its goal was to improve cultivation practices of vegetable farmers in Tanzania. Between 2014 and 2020 I was assigned as parttime communications consultant, mostly at a distance. Assigned as such I developed the projects corporate identity and communications strategy, set up the website sevia.biz, worked closely together with local communications officers on outputs like leaflets, video’s, newsletters and calendars, while Mooizodesign was engaged for its beautiful lay-out. By telling stories about farmers´ lives and improvements in vegetable farming we managed to reach many other farmers. Seeing is believing was the project´s mantra. In total SEVIA trained 48,000 farmers. In 2020 I organised the conversion of the website, again collaborating with Mooizodesign. We also edited and took care of the lay-out of the book The Green Revolution reborn, by Elijah Mwashayenyi.
